Today i spent most of the day working on the vegetable plot, dividing and replanting the strawberries so they are more comfy and ready for growing HUGE & JUICY strawberries. YES! I wished for a bit of rain at the end of the day so i did not have to water them. But my wish came true instantly! and soon me and the dogs transformed into muddy monsters. My thoughts wandered off .........
.....to a perfect 'greenhouse' for spending one's (rainy) sunday afternoon!
Alice Tait is a British illustrator who has worked with the likes of Vogue and many others. She is an admirer of Toulouse Lautrec as you can see in her beautiful work. She also inspires me with her striking illustrations of Roger, her dachshund. As i own two of them i certainly know how adorable & photogenic they are!
The 30th of april 2013 was a memorable day!(For those of you outside of Holland: april 30= the national celebration of the Queen's birthday named 'Koninginnedag') This year our new King, Willem Alexander, was crowned and so Queen Beatrix consequently headed for her retirement. The flea market, where the young and old sell their personal curiosities, wasn't quite as busy as a lot of people watched the royal ceremonies on television.
Still, some of us went out there to express creative ideas on this day's topic.
Just came back last week from a lovely summer-shopping trip to Stockholm, ending with a boat trip this time! A beautiful city indeed, and what i really appreciate to see is that the people do keep to their own fashion style. One can describe it as effortless and minimalistic, with a focus on high quality and practicality, rather than blind following designer labels or logo's. A few of my favorite shops to visit are Filippa K, Samsoe & Samsoe, J. Lindberg and Cheap Monday.
MILAN REPORT (SALONE DI MOBILI 2013)
Beginning of april i went to the 'Salone di Mobili' in Milan.
Cycling criss-cross through town on a Milanese city bike is a joyful and easy way to visit as many showrooms possible. Designers from all over the world are present and also this year the Scandinavian designers were most impressive.
In this year's 'Salone di Mobili post' i will focus on new inspiration for lightning design. Interesting to see is the ongoing use of natural materials.
