SAY YES TO COPPER!

My handmade Xmas decoration is up on the wall! and as i mentioned to you before i worked with copper accents this year. The bamboo sticks are borrowed from my vegetable garden. I wrapped them with copper strings full of tiny little bells from HEMA.

STARRY XMAS!

Yes we're getting there..Christmas 2012 is not far from happening! This year no tree but STARS!! last year was full of colour and fluorescent accents. This year i will go for black & white versus natural & copper. Below some inspiration to get eager!

SARAH LUND

The popular Danish crime series, The Killing, has had a ferm grip on me for it clings you to the screen! Two things struck me when i watched a few episodes: the character of Sarah Lund.... and the jumper!. Find out yourself what you think about the character, i just would like to mention it's an interesting way of marketing a handknitted jumper. 

In an interview with 'the Guardian' Sofie (Sarah Lund) stated that she picked out this jumper because it's unpolice-like, and it does not add to her sexuality. Quite a new approach to feminine police women in series! The jumper becoming a bespoken item and international FASHION HIT was not foreseen i suppose..

Note: the knit is traditional Faroese. The Faroe Islands lie to the north of Schotland an archipelago under the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark. The undyed organic wool comes from hardy northern black and white sheep. It's lightweight, breathable and hypoallergenic. Who would've thought!

FLEXIBLE OFFICE TABLE

Mixing natural materials in one's interior gives a real sense of warmth. Since i started my own design studio i enjoy being able to work in different environments. In my home i love to work from my studio on the 2nd floor, where i have a lot of inspiration gathered around me. Working from my living room, with the fireplace lit in the wintertime and the big doors open in summertime, it's good to distance myself from the many books and items around me to be able to reflect on things.
One of my friends has started up his own furniture company and i was lucky to work with him designing my own multi-functional wooden table. In this table i can easily plug more than one laptop but important is the fact that everything can be quickly stalled in the compartments underneath to make room for lunch, tea, meetings & dinner!

Vanaf 24 november start in het Centraal museum de expositie 'BLUE JEANS'! Een fijn museum (volop in ontwikkeling!) in het hartje van Utrecht.  

WAITING ROOM FANTASY

While waiting for my appointment in a waiting room, the sun was making beautiful shades in a milk glass window.... I quickly captured a few of these moments with my camera. The other people present kept reading their magazines....my mind making stories for this mysterious scenery....

These eye-cathing eyeliners from Mily i recently spotted in le Bon Marche in Paris. They are called 'simply liners'. Instant sharp lines, Yes! and no more problems erasing your 'artwork' more than once...(smudgy crap allover) in case you are not the lucky owner of a steady painter's hand!

The interior fair in Amsterdam two weeks ago was inspiring and a nice addition to my earlier shopping trip in Paris. The photo's in my i-phone were jumping around screaming..."Let me out!" So here's the impression i made..Yeaahhhhh!
