DOGS

For years and years i carry this little dachshund key holder with me. It's so cleverly made, i found it lying in a shop screaming for my attention...Yoehooo! Besides the two living dogs i own (of the same brand), my keyholder is a true companion.. When it's lost i panic! not just because i can't open doors... 

Now, yesterday i was struck by these adorable leather toys on wheels from Ellen Heilmann and Kathrin Schumacher. Is it not a rare coincidence i have a secret wish to own a greyhound or whippet dog one day....? The fact that i do not own acres of land  tells me i must dream on.. but a leather one is now within reach!

CELEBRATING!

Yesterday i celebrated my ..th :-) birthday! It was a beautiful sunny day with tea and cakes and a cosy dinner! I was spoiled, oh boy! Even the sweet little monsters were in real party spirit! Thanks for a lovely day everyone! 

FLOWER STUDIES

Just recently bought a hanging basket with a beautiful fuchsia flower for the balcony. These flowers are really amazing, especially when you take a close look! 

Such an elegant piece of work from nature..

I love the different tones of pink having the bottom leaves so bright and the delicate pink in the heart fading into white! Finally the one long stamen reaching out like the arm of a ballet dancer.

My little longhaired teckel Bobje is ever so proud to be placed among all the other fun pet photo's on Lidewij Edelkoort's Trend Tablet! He's lying on his favourite red pouf of our friend Jan in his beautiful canalhouse in the centre of Amsterdam.

WISHLIST

On my computer desktop are several folders containing photo's of things i wish i could have in my home. Today i thought i'd share with you two of those things...while i keep on dreaming!

AEROGRAM

Brilliant idea! bringing back to life the aerogram with a beautiful new design! Indeed i remember to have used them when i was about 12..to write to my cousin in the USA. Those ones had glue parts at 3 sides ..this one has a clever tab you can simply tuck in. I like!

SMALL DOG LARGE AREA

This weekend the dogs had a new experience: a beach with no sea..(midst of Netherlands Soest area)

Plenty of sand all around, and a few scattered pine trees. It was obvious they had trouble with orientation at first. They ran in circles and did not really know where to start...

But once Nando discovered a perfect 'lookout' spot he seemed to regain control over the situation.

COLD CASE EPISODE

I suspect my dog Bobje has a rare expertise..

In general he likes to find little toys in impossible places of peoples houses. 

In some cases this comes out handy..that's when you catch him just before final destruction.

But when you're too late he chews it into pieces as fine as powder. 

The moment such a pile of powder catches your eye it leaves you wondering for years what shape it could have been in a former life. 

This little toy in the photo above, must be an exception to the rule...! I think Bobje must have a specific dislike of rubber bath toys dressed like managers.

After carefully removing the laptop, which was never found again, he made sure there was no way for the victim to ever face the loss...

The oh so fashionable pair of black nerdy glasses was left for the cold case team to examine..

MARLIZ & SUSAN

Last night i was invited to the opening of the exhibition of Marliz Frencken (see my earlier post) and Susan Drummen in 'Het Valkhof museum' in Nijmegen. The works of Marliz are attractive to me as they are sweet and decorative at first sight but the longer you look the more your fantasy is aroused to build your own story around the little statues..She told us she uses a special kind of resin to fix them and keep them from falling apart.

Susan Drummen was a nice surprise, for i adore her groundworks with colored precious stones, metal and glass. The photo's i took are a fraction of the works as they are framed by the photo ofcourse but in reality they have a special effect in the space of the museum. I recommend you to have a look for yourselves! The exhibition will be shown until the 10th of june.

Shoes are usually not allover printed, that's why these ones...,apparently an idea from Paul Smith, are absolutely suitable as an inspiring 'graphic' on my pinboard!

REAL JOY

The funny thing about designing is that, while you are chucking some more wood on the fire having -15C outside, your mind has no trouble switching from one season to another. Wondering off to new spring collections and their fresh colors and new combinations is a REAL JOY i can tell ya! My desk full of new inspirational color hues..
